plenty of time to pick and choose

The market is a scary place to be investing in now. As a result, those that have the guts or smarts as well as the money to invest in stocks have a good amount of time to choose what to buy.

Because of the prevailing fear and uncertainty in the market, we cannot expect large sustained rallies quite yet.

"Be greedy when everyone is fearful, be fearful when everyone is greedy?" -Warren Buffet When will our market's main index break its medium term downtrend and find that foothold? With such bright and sunny skies over our local private sector, why are we so fearul? News...what news? All the good corporate news last week was not sufficient to have any significant upward impact on our market. On the contrary, we saw incredibly thin trading last week for successive trade days. The gloom and doom that has taken over global markets seems to scream louder than our local news of continuously increasing corporate profits. Technical Opinions Tsupitero says the level to watch out for is 3170. Any break below this points to only one of two things, a retest of the previous low of 2950 or worse, the establishment of a newer low. signs of an ever shrinking world

Cheaper gas = higher stock prices. The oil price has been falling due largely to shrinking demand. Much of the slash in demand is stateside in origin. Americans are reacting to the rising prices by driving less. CNBC reports that "U.S. drivers have turned to public transportation and shortened trips in response to high gasoline prices, a major factor in oil's drop of more than $31 a barrel since hitting a record over $147 per barrel last month." I thank the American citizenry for reducing their time behind the wheels of their gas guzzlers. Not really because it boosts stock prices but mostly because its better for the environment. But yeah, it has a nice effect on our stock prices and I like that too.
